I always enjoy these yearly summary posts. It’s fun to think about the previous year’s adventures and see individual memories take shape into our own travel patterns.
We usually share this via Instagram, but since I made multiple graphics this year, I opted for a blog post. Plus, this format allows for easier clarification of some of the details.

The towing miles are just that: miles we drove with the truck attached to the RV getting to a campground or back home. It does not include the miles traveled to get anywhere else, like zoos, hiking trails, restaurants, etc.

Of the 29 campgrounds we stayed in, 2 of them were Jellystones, 10 were KOAs, and 3 were state parks.

This year, we camped in 17 states. Of those, 9 were states we had never been to with the RV. The asterisk in the graphic is there because when we say “states,” we actually mean “states and provinces.” Two of the 17 are Canadian provinces.
Here is the 2025 list of states. New states are marked with an asterisk.
- Connecticut*
- Delaware*
- Florida
- Georgia
- Maine*
- Maryland
- Massachusetts*
- New Hampshire*
- New Jersey
- New York
- North Carolina
- Ontario*
- Pennsylvania
- Quebec*
- Rhode Island*
- Vermont*
- Virginia
We have a rule that just driving through a state doesn’t put it on the list of states we’ve been to. For a state to be included in that list, we have to stay at least two nights there and do some notable activity.

If you’re thinking, “Hey, earlier you said 3 state parks!” you’re right. When discussing the number of campgrounds for the year, we included only the state parks where we spent the night. In addition to the 3 parks where we stayed overnight with the RV, we visited 8 other state parks. This is why we said 11 state parks in the graphic about more general activities.
What do your numbers look like? Are we the only ones that track types of campgrounds (KOAs, Jellystones, etc.)? Do you have a rule about what makes a state “count” that you’ve been there? We’d love to know what kinds of information other families track!
Happy travels!
